A little white stuff on the ground is no reason to avoid time on your bicycle. A fat bike uses a 3.8 inch tire or wider to allow the rider to more safely and effectively navigate snowy environments. Fat bike events are the perfect opportunity to continue to enjoy cycling with friends, even in the winter. During our fat bike races, we run a single race time with multiple categories to shorten the time spent outdoors in case of extreme cold and to keep snow conditions more preferable for all riders. We love to be outside and ride, but South Dakota winters can be unpredictable so we plan to allow for the best of both worlds. We still love to have spectators and cowbells work just as well in cold weather. Bundle up and come have fun!
